Die österreichische Sopranistin Eva-Maria Schmid absolvierte mit Auszeichnung die Master-Studien Lied und Oratorium bei Florian Boesch und KS Robert Holl in der Gesangsklasse von KS Edith Lienbacher, Musikerziehung und Gesangspädagogik bei Lydia Vierlinger an der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien sowie Operette bei Wolfgang Dosch an der Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität Wien. Derzeit wird sie stimmlich von KS Krassimira Stoyanova betreut.
2025 kehrt Eva-Maria Schmid erneut in den Goldenen Saal des Wiener Musikvereins zurück und wird mit Mozarts Motette Exsultate, Jubilate sowie mit Franz Schuberts ES-Dur Messe zu hören sein.
Zudem feiert sie sowohl ihr Debüt als PAMINA in Mozarts Die Zauberflöte beim oberösterreichischen Musikfestival Landlwochen als auch ihr Solistinnendebüt mit Ludwig van Beethovens Sinfonie Nr.9 in Graz.
Mit Carl Orffs Meisterwerk Carmina Burana tritt sie mehrmals in Niederösterreich auf und Konzerte führen sie ins Konzerthaus Wien.
Silvester- und Neujahrskonzerte u.a. im Festsaal der Wiener Hofburg mit dem Hofburgorchester Wien beenden ihr altes und eröffneten ihr neues musikalisches Jahr.
Ein weiterer Höhepunkt war 2024 ihre erste China-Tournee mit Lui Chan´s Wiener Walzer Ensemble (Mitglieder des Brucknerorchesters Linz), welche sie für 10 Konzerte an atemberaubende chinesische Opern- sowie Konzerthäuser führte, wie z.B. in das Oriental Art Center Shanghai, in die Concert Hall Shanghai, an das Zhuhai Opera House, in die Xinghai Concert Hall in Guangzhou oder das Qinghai Grand Theater in Xining.
Ende 2023 folgten Silvester- und Neujahrskonzerte mit dem Orchester Festival Sinfonietta Linz. Des Weiteren erschienen die neu eingespielten CD-Aufnahmen der Augustinerkirche Wien, wo Eva-Maria Schmid als Sopransolistin in W.A.Mozarts Große Credo-Messe in C-Dur (KV 257) zu hören ist. In der Vorweihnachtszeit war die Sopranistin live auf ORF III aus dem Wiener Stephansdom zu sehen und Adventkonzerte führten sie in ihre oberösterreichische Heimat.
In der Saison 2022/23 kehrte die gebürtige Oberösterreicherin an die OPER GRAZ zurück, wo sie ihr Rollendebüt als ESMERALDA in Bedřich Smetanas Oper Die verkaufte Braut feierte. Weitere Höhepunkte waren die Oratorien Elias von Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy sowie Die Schöpfung von Joseph Haydn u.a. im Stephansdom Wien und ihr Solistinnendebüt im Salzburger Dom mit W.A.Mozarts Motette Exsultate, jubilate sowie Krönungsmesse.
In der Saison 2021/22 gastierte Eva-Maria Schmid an der Oper Graz als CHAVA in J.Bocks Musical Anatevka. Als Konzertsolistin trat sie in Carl Orffs Carmina Burana im Großen Kammersaal Graz, in Franz Schuberts Es-Dur Messe im Wiener Stephansdom, in W.A.Mozarts Requiem im MuTh Wien/Stephansdom Wien/Herz-Jesu-Kirche Graz und in Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdys Lobgesang in der Herz-Jesu-Kirche Graz auf.
Mit dem WRO ist sie zudem regelmäßig im Konzerthaus Wien zu hören und mit den Österreichischen Kammersolisten konzertierte sie im Festsaal der Elisabethinen Linz.
Ihr Konzertdebüt im Goldenen Saal des WIENER MUSIKVEREINS gab sie 2022 als Sopransolistin in Joseph Haydns Nelsonmesse und Anton Bruckners Te Deum.
Von 2019 bis 2021 gehörte Eva-Maria Schmid dem Opernstudio der OPER GRAZ an, wo sie u.a. als ZERLINA (Don Giovanni/W.A. Mozart), KATJA (Die Passagierin/Mieczysław Weinberg), CHAVA (Anatevka/Jerry Bock), LA VOCE DAL CIELO (Don Carlo/Giuseppe Verdi) und IDA (Die Fledermaus/Johann Strauß) debütierte.
2021 wurde Eva-Maria Schmid zum ersten Mal MUTTER und lebt mit ihrem Sohn und Ehemann in Wien.
Große Messkompositionen - u.a. von Bruckner, Schubert, Mozart oder Haydn - führen Eva-Maria Schmid regelmäßig zu den renommierten Kirchenmusiken im Wiener Stephansdom, in der Augustinerkiche Wien sowie Wiener Jesuitenkirche.
Vergangene Musiktheater-Engagements führten die Sopranistin u.a. an die Kammeroper München (D), ins Landestheater Linz, ins Cuvilliés-Theater München (D), Theater Zug (CH), zum Festival am Semmering (Kultur Sommer Semmering), ins Stadttheater Meran (I) und zum Musikfestival Steyr.
Im Rahmen namhafter Festivals sowie Konzerthäusern im In- und Ausland trat Eva-Maria Schmid z.B. beim Brucknerhaus Linz, Internationalen Brucknerfest Linz, O-Fest Kiew (UKR), Operettentheater Kiew, Konzerthaus Wien, Philharmonie Krakau (PL) oder Schloßtheater Schönbrunn auf.
Neben ihrer Opern- und Konzerttätigkeit ist sie eine passionierte Liedsängerin und feierte ihr Liederabend-Debüt im Rahmen des Österreichisch-Griechischen Musiksommer in Athen (GRC).
Eva-Maria Schmid war Semi-Finalistin beim Internationalen Mozartwettbewerb in Salzburg sowie Leistungsstipendiatin der Musikuniversität Wien. Im Rahmen von Meisterklassen arbeitete sie u.a. mit KS Anna Tomowa-Sintow, KS Brigitte Fassbaender, Cheryl Studer, KS Angelika Kirchschlager, Helena Lazarska und Norman Shetler.
Neben ihrer künstlerischen Tätigkeit ist Eva-Maria Schmid seit 2017 als Stimmbildnerin sowie Musikpädagogin bei den Wiener Sängerknaben, den Wiener Chormädchen und im ORG der Wiener Sängerknaben tätig.
The Austrian soprano Eva-Maria Schmid graduated with honors from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW), studying Song and Oratorio (MA) with Florian Boesch and KS Robert Holl in the singing class of KS Edith Lienbacher, music education (MAg.art.) and singing pedagogy (MA) with Lydia Vierlinger as well as Operetta with Wolfgang Dosch at the Music and Art University of the City of Vienna (MUK). She is currently being supervised vocally by KS Krassimira Stoyanova.
In 2025, Eva-Maria Schmid will return to the Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein, performing W.A. Mozart's motet Exsultate, Jubilate and Franz Schubert's Mass in E-flat major. She will also celebrate her debut as PAMINA in Mozart's The Magic Flute and her soloist debut with Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 in Graz.
She will also perform Carl Orff's masterpiece Carmina Burana several times in Lower Austria and concerts in the Vienna Konzerthaus. New Year's Eve and New Year's concerts, a.o. in the Vienna Hofburg's Festival Hall with the Hofburg Orchestra Vienna, close her old and open her new musical year.
Another highlight in 2024 was her first China tour with Lui Chan's Wiener Walzer Ensemble (members of the Bruckner Orchestra Linz), which took her to ten concerts at breathtaking Chinese opera and concert halls, including the Oriental Art Center Shanghai, the Concert Hall Shanghai, the Zhuhai Opera House, the Xinghai Concert Hall in Guangzhou and the Qinghai Grand Theater in Xining.
New Year's Eve and New Year's concerts with the Festival Sinfonietta Linz orchestra followed at the end of 2023. Furthermore, the newly recorded CD recordings of the Augustinerkirche Vienna were released, where Eva-Maria Schmid can be heard as the soprano soloist in W.A. Mozart's Great Credo Mass in C major (K. 257). In the run-up to Christmas, the soprano was seen live on ORF III from St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna, and Advent concerts took her to her home in Upper Austria.
In the 2022/23 season, the Upper Austrian native returned to OPERA GRAZ, where she celebrated her role debut as ESMERALDA in Bedřich Smetan's opera The Bartered Bride. Further highlights included the oratorios Elias by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and The Creation (Die Schöpfung) by Joseph Haydn, a.o. at St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna and her solo debut at Salzburg Cathedral with W.A. Mozart's motet Exsultate, jubilate and Coronation Mass.
In the 2021/22 season, Eva-Maria Schmid performed at the Graz Opera as CHAVA in J. Bock's musical Anatevka. As a concert soloist, she performed in Carl Orff's Carmina Burana in the Great Chamber Hall in Graz, in Franz Schubert's E-flat major Mass in St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna, in W.A. Mozart's Requiem at the MuTh Vienna/St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna/Sacred Heart Church in Graz and in Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy's Lobgesang in the Sacred Heart Church in Graz.
She also regularly performs with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra at the Konzerthaus Vienna and has performed with the Austrian Chamber Soloists in the Festsaal of the Elisabethinen Linz.
She made her concert debut in the Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein in 2022 as the soprano soloist in Joseph Haydn's Nelson Mass and Anton Bruckner's Te Deum.
From 2019 to 2021 she was a member of the opera studio at the OPER GRAZ, where she performed roles including ZERLINA (Don Giovanni/Mozart), KATJA (The Passenger/Weinberg), CHAVA (Anatevka/Bock), LA VOCE DAL CIELO (Don Carlo/Verdi) and IDA (Die Fledermaus/Strauß).
In 2021 Eva-Maria Schmid became a mother for the first time and lives with her son and husband in Vienna.
As a soloist, she regularly performs in renowned church concerts at St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna, the Augustinian Church in Vienna and the Jesuit Church in Vienna.
Past musical theater engagements have taken the soprano to the Munich Chamber Opera (Germany), the Landestheater Linz, the Cuvilliés Theater Munich (Germany), the Theater Zug (Switzerland), the Semmering Festival (Kultur Sommer Semmering), the City Theater of Meran (Italy) and the Music Festival Steyr.
Eva-Maria Schmid has performed at renowned festivals and concert halls in Austria and abroad, including the Brucknerhaus Linz, the International Bruckner Festival Linz, the O-Fest Kyiv (UKR), the Kyiv Operetta Theater, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Kraków Philharmonic Hall (PL) and the Schönbrunn Palace Theater.
In addition to her opera and concert activities, she is a passionate Lied singer and celebrated her recital debut as part of the Austrian-Greek Music Summer in Athens (GRC).
Eva-Maria Schmid was a semi-finalist at the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg and received a scholarship from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
She has worked in master classes a.o. with KS Anna Tomowa-Sintow, KS Brigitte Fassbaender, Cheryl Studer, KS Angelika Kirchschlager, Helena Lazarska and Norman Shetler.
In addition to her artistic work, the soprano works as a voice coach for the Vienna Boys' Choir, the Vienna Girl´s Choir and in the high school of the Vienna Boys' Choir since 2017.
